Mission Details
Mission Objectives
The mission goal for each trip is to serve as a bridge for both the giver and receiver to be strengthened. Healthcare professionals cross the international bridge to bring medical knowledge and skills to serve communities of need, and return with deeper compassion, gratitude, language skills, world knowledge of global health and expanded skills. In a spirit of cultural humility, there is much to learn as we serve.
Language Learning
Teams who serve in Mexico, Central or South America will learn medical Spanish in an immersion experience.
Volunteers will receive 50% off the medical Spanish online course.
Volunteers will receive 50% off the medical Spanish online course.
Medical Services Offered
Volunteers will provide general medicine in free community clinics led by a local physician. Volunteers will learn about how to provide patient education, and build a bridge of education by teaching local nurses and healthcare workers how to strengthen their own community. Volunteers will also learn about folk medicine, tropical diseases, pharmacology, and what medical services are available in the country they serve in. We work with the Ministry of Health and learn about global health within each community we serve.
